Recent News

So, it’s been a while since I’ve updated the information on this blog. We’ve read some books that people have loved, and some that we’ve disliked. I Am Malala is a recent favorite, and I’m sorry that the Pakistani fudge didn’t work out. Our next book will be the Orphan Train by Christina Kline, and we will meet in about two weeks to discuss it.

10/1/2014 America’s Women: Four Hundred Years of Dolls, Drudges, Helpmates, and Heroines

Sorry about the incredibly long delay in posting. Contrary to how it might appear, we actually have met since May. We read The Color of Water in June, Habits of the House in July, War Dances in August, and Beyond Outrage in September. In October we will meet to discuss America’s Women by Gail Collins. Unfortunately, copies are scarce, but I do have an audiobook version on the way, and we may be able to acquire another print copy. Fall schedules are out, and we will read The Plague of Doves by Louise Erdrich in November, and The Book Thief by Markus Zusak in December. Happy reading!

New Schedule Out

The May through August 2014 schedule is now out. Look for a copy with descriptions at either entrance. We will be discussing The Hunger Games in May, The Color of Water in June, Habits of the House in July, and War Dances in August.
